Brian Unwin was a good friend of Essex Branch of the Historical Association for many a year. He rarely missed our meetings and he contributed often to those Members’ Meetings in which we heard about all things historical in ten-minute-talks. He was a fair photographer and his talks were very well-illustrated. He brought along his nephew to a regular branch meeting on Brunel’s Railways, and the lad became our youngest attendee by some fifty or sixty years!
Brian was not shy about attending other Branches of the HA and he scouted many a speaker for us.
His sister wrote a short note to us on 21 August 2023 telling us that Brian passed away on 19 June at St.George’s Nursing Home.
